Who is Ownerside?
Ownerside provides business operations consulting and custom systems for Coachella Valley businesses. Founder Matthew Alaimo explains how his experience led him to start the company.
In late 2014, a friend called about a treatment center that was losing money and asked me to help. I'd never worked in addiction treatment. I reviewed how the business operated, made it profitable, and stayed in the industry for more than a decade.
For close to thirty years, across telecom, marketing, and staffing, I’ve learned unfamiliar industries and solved the problems in front of me. It’s the part of business I enjoy most. I've kept a company operating through a pandemic and met payroll through difficult years. I fixed what I could and decided when it was time to move on.
At first, I mostly used AI to find information. Then I needed to build a platform and used it to do work that would previously have required a much larger budget. I built it myself in months. That experience changed what I could offer, but the work still began with understanding the business.
I started Ownerside to do this for other owners: work out what needs attention, decide whether a change is worthwhile, and build and run the systems it requires.
